I dont think you will be able to as you will have to feed it into the ECU as far as im aware, if you manage, make a guide and post up here as lots of 1.4S owners, me included, are interested in having a rev counter
I dont need one, but when you do race people, which in my case is quite a lot, i would like to know how far off hitting the limiter i am, as i have done it before and its not nice. Also...
I WILL FIT IT!!!! IT MUST BE POSSIBLE. CANT BELIEVE IT WASNT STANDARD. EVERYONE NEEDS A REV COUNTER CUZ ITS IMPORTANT TO LISTEN AND SEE THE PROGRESS OF THE ENGINE. ALSO WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW EXACTLY HOW FAR YOU CAN PUSH THE REVS!
Did come with instructions. Not very clear tho. It tells you where to connect wires but getting access to them from the cockpit is a different kettle of fish!!!! dont know where there is a hole leading to the engine for wires to pass thru except for the glove compartment but that is over the other side of the dash! Whats the point?
Yeah that would be the logical thing to do. Just needed someone to suggest it! will try and cut a hole in the dash to mount the bloody thing. hope i dont feck it up! Ill let everyone know how i get on and post some pics. PS where is the "coil"? what does it look like?
So do the wires from the tachometer need to be run directly to the ecu only? What kind of connection will likely to be needed, a simple header to go on a pin or a solder job maybe? What do you think Tom?
This question has been around for so long it will be good to see someone fit a rev counter and have a guide for all to see.
