with out the red key or having a cam belt change? 1997 r reg 92k approx, oh and need a new front wing, lol. about 6 months MOT.

its just i know somone who brought one and could only keep it on the road for six months and now he may sell it? for £900.00

it has been driven hard as he had only just passed his test! if the gf wont let me buy it ill post it up here if he decids to sell!

would love to loz but it aint for sale yet! if it come up for sale ill let you be the first to know

sure, but even as a runner i would never pay close to the £900 mark, more like £400-500 in that state

i wouldnt diseregard it totally as the cmablet issue can soon be sorted and the red key isnt as much of a sticking point anymore it seems, i wouldnt be prepared to pay £900 for it tho like lozz said

thats the thing he says its been serviced but has no history! so imo i have to take it that it has not been serviced?
i know that a car of 7 years of age would have been serviced in the first three years (to keep Warranty) but who knows after that?

Burn your money - it'll be cheaper and less painful in the long run.

£900? Get real.

rr its not me selling the car just wanted to know what other people thought about it :)

re

I expect someone woudl pay 900 for it if he got the cambelt done! and as long as it wasnt leaking oil all over the place etc etc

as it stands if the rest of it is tidy i expect he'd get 5/600 for someone like tommy k who was looking for a project car and not too worried about a wing or service history.

without service history just ask him what plugs and what oil he used, if he um's and err's then he hasnt done it, if he is straight out with it then its probably a good start that he might of actually done it!

I went to the auction last night and there was no end of fiats going through without the red keys, and making absolutely no money at all.
For example:
98 R marea 2.0 20v (same angine as the hgt) with short test, but tidy. £250!
98 p/p Marea weekend 2.0 20v (again same engine as the hgt) in mint condition, but speedo cream crackered. £400!!
2001 Y brava 1.2 elx in absolutely mint condition and 32k miles with fsh and the red key £1000
I did fancy having a go at that marea weekend myself, but bought something else instead.

hgt where was this auction? email me direct if you want? thanks

I told you that the residuals were lamentable and nobody wanted older Fiats, didn't I!!

Has nobody considered buying some bargain Fiat with no red key, then taking a hammer to the ECU and burning most the engine loom.

Then fitted a Pair of 45s and finding a suitable dizzy from somewhere?

Call me crazy, but sounds like a fun plan to me.

i haven't got the red key for mine. all i did was transfer my clifford alarm across an now no need for it.
i reckon if you were looking for a project car it sounds ideal. cam belt change is £300 - £400 you could get an old wing of ebay or a scrappy for next to nothing.
