Been hellish here since about 4pm with torrential rain (worst i have ever seen in my 28 years of existence) down to 20mph driving home on the A614 Towards Goole which was totally flooded in patches...... Fire service doing their best but are outstretched they are pumping out the houses opposite at the moment (poor sods) been to check on my Grans theres a foot of water plus in her back garden trees down all over from lightning strikes. Tescos is closed due to flood water... as are many pubs due to flooded cellars

Looks like you've had a right soaking there. I'm only about 40 miles to the east of Goole and there's only been some light rain in the last couple of hours here in Grimsby.
Looks like you had a fun drive home, it looks more like you're in a boat in the second video with the bow wave splashing up like that, Arr batten down the hatches mateys

. At least the underside of your car will be clean :)

Saw this on the news this morning. Guess where me and the Family are going on holiday tomorrow
I hope everybody is ok up there and i guess we will join in the fun saturday morning.

On a lighter note does anybody fancy a mini meet or pub grub meet over the weekend or next week?

A clear-up operation is under way in parts of Yorkshire after torrential rain caused flash flooding.
North Yorkshire and East Yorkshire were badly affected on Wednesday, with some homes and businesses being evacuated.
Humberside Fire Service said it received 135 calls in just three hours during the afternoon as heavy rain fell on Goole.
In Dunnington, near York, trees came down when high winds and rain hit the village.
Parts of the region received almost a month's rainfall in 12 hours, weather experts said

Hello, i live in goole, didn't realise someone else here did :)

luckily we weren't flooded, but my mum is a home carer and a couple of the old peoples houses/bungalows she has been too are, resulting in one not being able to stay there as the place is ruined

people are still clearing up today, today will not have helped either as it has raied strongly again today but nowhere near what it did that day

lets just hope it doesnt happen again, i think it was the suddenness of it that caught people out
