I've had my bravo 1.8 hlx nearly a year now and i've never had my standard factory fit alarm working since i purchased it. I was wondering a year later about getting it working again.
Before i bought the car i did all the usual checks of the car and found that the button on the keyfob only operated the central locking but the alarm didnt work full stop. There was no flashing of indicators, beep, nothing. The guy discounted the price of the car and so i left the showroom abit happy but still without the alarm working. I've got a small key to disable the alarm and i've tried turning that and alarming the car with the key fob, but i get nothing still just the central locking opening and closing. I know the car has an alarm due to the key fob having a button on it, there are sensors on the centre light console and theres a small led in the middle of the dash.
The keys dont need programing because they work fine for central locking and switching off the immobiliser.
I really hope one of you could help me solve this problem, could it be fuse related or something. Do anyone know where the fuses may be etc.
I know alittle around the car so any help would be grateful.

Thanks for your time to read this.

Joske

p.s I dont wanna buy a new alarm for the car, since i've got a big disclok over the steering wheel, which either way deters thieves.

Could it be the receiver relay behind the glovebox? I believe it has a short aerial on it.

Can this relay be simply replaced from fiat or from scrap yard or will i need it setting up to my cars alarm?

I've just took apart my glovebox and i didn't find any fuse with a small aerial on it. The fuses i found, starting from bottom right to bottom left, was a yellow square fuse, a green rectangle fuse, a pale yellow square fuse and then a black square fuse. That is all.
Is there any place where i can trace the wires from to find the actual alarm cpu somewhere? I dont fancy having to trace wires from the courtesy light control.
Thanks for your speedy reply Pete.

Hi Joske
Just got in. I haven`t done one myself, but try the post `Upgrading your central locking' from Paul Maks. They sound pretty clued up on there.
