Technical Hi And HELP

Hi guys just bought a 2 ltr. fiat marea weekend as a second car for work, my 3.9 disco and the cost of liquid gold (petrol) means its used on special occasions only. when i bought the car i had no handbook etc and cannot seem to get the cental locking to work via the blue key, the prevoius owner had the battery changed and said it worked untill then. i have the red key but despite numerous searches i have been unable to find a way to reset or code or whatever it is that needs to be done, i have tried holding down the button in the roof and pressing the key but i am unable to turn the alarm off with the button, only manually in the fusebox. ps the red light is ok on the key, thanks John

Had the same problem with mine.
Take the key apart and remove the circuit board.
Find the micro switch that is operated by the button. Gently pull the end of it to the limit of it's travel. Reassemble being careful not to push the button until you are near the car.
If it works first time only it means that the switch is sticking. I cured mine by pressing the small metal cutout on the top of the switch in a bit to increase the spring on the switch.
If not it sounds like a visit to your local fiat dealer.

hi i bet the solder on the micro switch has broken take key appart and solder the switch back on. bdead easy 2 min job
