Technical "Weekend" drop down bumper and towbars

Is there a type of towbar that will facilitate the use of the drop down back bumper on the Marea Weekend?

i was wondering if something like a gooseneck would allow the clearance for the bumper to move?

I have a brand new "fixed" towbar on my W/E which is great because it's a good tow car.. but losing the drop down feature is really annoying.

If anyone has any info that would be ace.

YES - the standard bar is indeed a removable "gooseneck",

I bought one for my old 105.. but never fitted it - as the power characteristics were POOR.. (I'd have eaten clutches)

my Tempra SW before it also had a gooseneck bar.

Shame you didn't realise the limitations of the towbar before purchase..



so - I take it you are getting on well with the car now that it drives better..??

Here is a picture of my removable.
With the bumper open, the rear plastic goes under the attachment point and does not interfere. Made by Kovil.

The fella who had it before me had the new towbar fitted 6 months before i bought it.. it's always had a towbar, he's towed all over europe in it.

I love the car. Still need to sort out the 80mm aux idler which is whining.. I have decided to take the bumper off and repair it and pull and fill the bumps in the bonnet, i've also noticed that half the drivers side bumper mount is "missing" but i have seen them on ebay for 24 quid.

I want to do the shocks and springs all round next, then sort some alloys. I have new shoes and a fitting kit that i may do this afternoon, if not tomorrow.

There's a fella on Ebay selling a complete gooseneck towbar for a marea.. that might end up in my hands too!
