Technical Hgt Punto, Bang Nosie In Engine Bay.

Hi, just got myself an Hgt punto and is a great car, but there is one thing that is bugging me every now and then I hear a hollow banging noise from the engine bay? Usually it happens when I’m just starting to accelerate or braking, but does not happen all the time. I think it happens more often when I put my foot to the floor. Could it be some loose engine manifold? Let me know if you have any ideas.

boyracer abuse has worn the engine and gearbox mounts maybe? allowing it to move under initial acceleration and lift off.

a loose manifold would play hell with the engine, intake or exhaust, so it cant be that imo. you'd really know about it if that had happened.

when you say "hollow banging noise" that suggests there is more than one bang when it happens. how many bangs are there? does the rate of banging relate to road speed or engine speed or neither?
