the car wasn't in an accident the reason for scrapping was the engine fell out

it cant fall out it has a safety device ie a lug
its got to have had a violent shock for the mounting to shear to drop the engine
think about it there would be claims from around the world
fingers sounds right now as well someones nicked it:D

Hi all,

My H/G went on me the other month and fixed it all myself. It was so much easier than I thought it would be, compared to previous cars I have owned and maintained/fixed.

I am a happy H/G owner with my Punto .... it's the rest, lol. :bang:

Of course what was I thinking, to believe what I was told and read when two internet people can make much more accurate assumptions based on little information

so to rescind my previous statement Punto Engines don't fall out panic over nothing to see here.......

had it been a much newer car though you wouldn't see these engine falling out type issues right? https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-evo/277237-engine-fell-out.html

i had a right job getting home tonight
i saw at least 4 puntos stranded due to engines falling out
im going to do a freedom of information to the transport minister
its disgusting we need to know how many puntos really are affected
and non of them making any noise before they broke too

head gasket failure happens due to people not changing the coolant every 2 - 3 years. Anti freeze contains a corrosion inhibitor and your head gasket is a a soft tin so it squashes up and seals. It rusts when the anti freeze looses its ability to stop it rotting and it blows, theoretically a car with regular water changes would never suffer HG failure.

That's called "ejecting the warp core".

She was obviously being chased by a black hole. Or something.
