[Toe]

Marea 1.8 ELX on 'V' plate, have been advised to check rpm sensor (see posting in non tech thread 'help'), have found the sensor but can't find ecu.
Workshop manual states that ecu is behind glove box, can,t see it.

Also, any idea how much this part is?

ANY help would be much appreciated!

Try the bulkhead in the engine compartment that is directly in front of the glovebox.

Found out why the car stopped and also solved 'ticking' noise!
Cambelt tensioner failed, teeth stripped from cambelt, car stopped. Two valves bent - head stripped, valves replaced along with belts and tensioner.
Cost £595 (lucky it didn't do more damage, engine was at bare tickover when belt went).

result - one sick Marea owner, however engine is spot on now.
