Help with door locks/handles

So my car decided that today it would decidde to not let me in through the drivers door, the barrell seems to be just spinning, wiill not unlock only from passenger side. and once unlocked it won't let me open the drivers door with inner or outer handle. This might be a repeat post but can anyone help me out? If someone could tell me how to open the door i could probably fix it but i don't know how to open the door. Please help

you cant open it from the inside? mmmmm if thats the case i have no idea apart from actually cutting the door card off from inside the car, this would enable you to pull the rod to open the door...

have you changed the handels over or is this on standard / orginial handels?

Standard handles dont tell me imma have to butcher it! really cannot afford to spend monies on it

I'm slowly loosing faith with my fiat. no matter how good it drives i shouldn't have to be fixing it every week.

unscrew as much of the door card as you can and see if you get get anywhere. If not, you'll need to break the door card off. But im sure you can get another door card for 10 quid or so from the scrappies.

As for the lock, you can either get another lock barrel and have two keys. Or change all the locks to a new replacement set. OR, install remote central locking. I did this on my old bravo, and its quite easy using some of the diy kits on ebay.

Ok so lock barrel is scrap, all rods and actual lock mechanism seems to work. Need a new door card however. Can i us the lock barrel from passenger side? as i never really unlock it from ther anyway? and stephen have you got those rear marea handles?

not yet, however i do have one rear handel i came across the other day, let me know if you want it and we can talk money...

All i need is one, seens as one lock is destroyed ill use the one from the other side and have passenger side de-locked. how much did i pay for the others?

oh pies you could have done it without killing the door card. Just pull the weather strip off that goes along the bottom of the glass on the outside of the door.

Then you can pull the rods with a coathanger
