Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to convert my 1974 R to PCD 98 at the rear. It seems like most people just take a whole 126 rear assembly (brakes, hubs, axle shaft) and swap it onto their 500 swing arms, but 126 parts are nearly impossible to find in the States.

Does anyone have a good source for a rebuilt, 126 rear hub kit? I've been trying to piece the parts together individually, but I'm doing a terrible job, leading in lots of returned parts!

My current guess is that I need something like this:
- 126 Axle Shaft: https://mrfiat.com/fiat-126-p-rear-wheel-shaft.html
- 126 Rear drum: https://mrfiat.com/fiat-126-p-brake-drum.html
- Panda rear brakes: https://mrfiat.com/fiat-panda-uno-fiorino-seat-ibiza-rear-wheel-brake-assembly-set-185x30mm.html
- I also have these tripods: https://webshop.fiat500126.com/en/f...shaft/tripod-constant-velocity-joint-in-pairs

Does this look correct to anyone?

It seems like the axle shaft is for 26mm bearings, so I assume it will work in the stock 500 R hubs. It also looks like a fine tooth spline, I'm hoping it should work with my tripods. The Panda rear brakes should work with the drum, but does anyone know if the stock 500 R hubs will bolt up to them?

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Bobby;
You will need 126 rear stub-axles, bearing carrier (I think---I will check for you) and 126 rear drum assembly. As you are oing to fit front discs and (probably) a 'twin'brake system you shoud be ablt to get away with normal 126 rear wheel cylinders. Don't forget, if you are using a 126 gearbox, you will need to fit (25mm) 500 drive-shafts---the 126 shafts are too long. One source of good 2nd hand parts is Lucasz at "LP Garage" They are in Sudbury, Suffolk (east England)--he breaks 126s and i have bought gearboxes and allsorts of parts off him. 126 stub axles will match that tripod set that you have.

Hi Bobby;
Had a quick look round most of my normal suppliers---hardly anyone lists stub-axles, but the couple who do, list them for 500 (F/L/R/) AND 126. Knowing this, have you tried 'Mr Fiat' in Atlanta?

Thanks for the quick reply Tom! Yes, I believe Mr. Fiat has the correct stub axles (uses 26mm ID bearings), though they are $185 each! I'm just wondering if this works with the 500 R hub.

If you click on the links in my original post, you should be able to see parts I'm looking at.

I'll reach out to LP and see what they have. That's a good idea.

Hi Bobby;
As far as I am aware, the 500R stub axles and/or hubs should be OK to use. If you think that it might help, feel free to use my name as a reference---Tom Montagu. As I said, I have done a fair bit of business with Lucasz, always found him a first class guy to work with.
