AND I don't have any fully working locks at the mo, so I can't use my key! :-/

Bear with me while I explain what I'm doing:

I've been trying to wire a relay into my car so that when I lock it the indicators flash for the duration of th locking pulse.

Simple you might say?! Well i got a 12v relay, figured out what the wirng should be, an even put it on an electronics forum to run it past somebody who knows what they're on about.

I intercepted the wires on the hazard lights behind the switch in the dash. Theres a ground, plus a wire for each side of the car (to start with I only connected one side of the car, (figured it may take 2 relays to do this to both sides indicators without them shorting each other) Then on the locking relay took the ground and 12v and I also found the wires that send the pulse for the doors to lock/unlock (Yellow for locking, grey for unlocking if anybody wants to try)
I used those blue crimping connectors to intercept the wires.

A couple of times I managed to stupidly let the + and - hit each other and blow the locking fuse, so at least i know which fuse that is now!

Thing is, i wired it all in and tried it once, now the locking has stopped working completely. :(

I've taken out anything I attached in case I was still shorting anything somehow.

As far as I can see the fuses are all in tact. The remote locking relay is still receiving power, in fact it's still sending out a pulse of power when you operate one of the doors manually or use the bleeper.

But the lockers dont respond. :) Silence.

Does anybody know if there are other fuses for the door solenoids anywhere?

UUUUUPPPSSSS !
Didnt read right - you sure there is power on the outgoing wires to the doors ?

There's definately power pulsing from the relay when you try and operate the central locking, but I wouldn't know which wire to check at the doors. Surely both the doors; solendoids wouldn't have died at the same time??!

Take out the RCL relay and you will see on its down part next to the pins written: +, ground simbol, 1M, 2M, 3, 2

When you press the button, there should be a signal either on the pin 3 or 2 - these are the outgoing pins.

If there aint no signal - the relay if f*****
And try inserting the old relay (CL only) if you have one

And the 1M and 2M must gain current for the motors, if there aint any - relay is f*****

The big ones (the Ms) have current pulsing through them, but the smaller ones by their sides dont (3 & 2):( But I'm sure i tested these for power when I was testing to see which wires to inrtercept and there was nothing going through them then either. Or maybe I'm mistaken.

you sound like you have intimate knowledge of the remote locking relay Sven! Have you managed to do what i'm attempting? Is it doable?

I wonder if anyone has a remote locking kit for sale? I'm gonna have to get fixing my driver's door lock today then! I didn't worry about it not working from the key since I fitted Alfa handles, as I always used the remote!

Even Desira want £60 +VAT.

Anyone know anywhere cheaper?

Cheers for that! I've sent him an offer of £45. I know it's not much of a discount, but I'm desperate, as I currently have to leave my car unlocked outside my house!

I've dug out my old central locking relay and that works fine again now, so it was definately the relay that's knackered :( That's taught me a lesson! If it aint broke, dont modify it! (unless of course somebody else has the answer? ;) )
