It's the 5W bulb in among the front cluster. It sits below the main lights and comes on with the regular lights. I found a diagram saying it's 5W. Manual says 5W bulbs could be front side lights, side direction indicators, third brake light, number plate or boot light.

Could someone be kind enough to point out the name please. The bulb has gone and needs to be replaced.

I would have called it a front sidelight bulb, does it only come on when working, if the sidelight position on light stalk set to it's first position.
I suspect it is a 501 type bulb at that age of vehicle, a capless 5 watt, 12 volt all glass bulb that just pushes in to place.

Well I don't know if it's a standard bulb or not and the info on the internet was'nt helpful idenifying this particular bulb since i don't even know its name.

If you're going to be THIS unhelpful, what are you doing here? I know why i'm here. I'm trying to fix my car. Why are you here on a forum for an ancient car if you're just going to behave like a bi&ch? Lurking, waiting for those more advanced questions that tickle your brain? Just don't bother replying in a thread if you're going to be provocative and useless. Thanks.

Yes it comes on with light stalk in first postion. I saw sidelight bulb in manual but I assumed that was the orange one on the side of the car. I'll look up 501 type bulb though and tomorrow i'll see if I can access the bulb and compare to 501. Thanks.

Yes, this is a "special" forum, for people who cannot use Internet properly (you know, Google and so on), to find/identify standard parts.
I'm the middle man, between you and Google/eBay/eLearn, you name it.

Really? Do we need forums to identify standard bulbs?
Like W5W...

If it's not a standard type, show us the picture of your "mystery bulb"!
Thesis: there are no automotive mystery bulbs in road-legal cars

as for the bulb, see page 159 Agreement Concerning the adoption of uniform technical prescriptions for wheeled vehicles, equipment and parts which can be fitted and/or be used on wheeled vehicles and the conditions for reciprocal recognition of approvals granted on the basis of these prescriptions

This reminds me a very funny documentary I've seen recently. ;)
