Hi guys, having issues with selespeed gearbox such as going into neutral by itself and staying in fourth not changing down ect, ran alfaOBD and came up with intermittent fault codes P2917,P060A and P2916.

I thought i have a look at the system while i was changing the brake discs, which was a mistake, as i had a look around depressurised the system to see the real oil level which was bang on the green line, i thought i would take off the gear selection potentiometer see if anything obvious wrong with it their wasn't so put it back on. I then started the car and now gearbox fault flashing on dash and cant get any gears, at least before i messed with it i could always go into 1st/reverse gear fine.

was their a particular way i should have put the selection potentiometer back on ?:bang:

literally never touch these gearboxes, its likely you've upset some calibration buy taking things off and it will now want plugging into a computer to reset everything.

What codes are being shown now?

Just codes above plus one for the selection potentiometer but goes away if on put it back on with some pre load, I've managed to get it to go in 2nd gear with small pre load and also putting it on with a bit more load says I'm in 6th when thier is only 5 gears lol
