Ordered a new Valve - £24.oo none in stock though
Make sure you get the sealing gasket too!
new MAtrix from Fiat - £107+VAt!
CHris's one was cheaper!

Incidentally, the NEW Matrix I fitted came complete with Control Valve which was a much STURDIER construction than the original Fiat part. It has supporting fins to reduce warpage!

Excellent!

don't suppose anyone has kept the old cable going from the air intake flap to heater control when you replaced your units?

as mines snapped :bang:

also going to have to take whole unit to replace so thisguide is well appreciated :worship:

Just wanted to say thanks for the guide Alan. I've had a long standing slow leak and eventually to round to looking at it.
Your guide made things a lot more straightforward.
Seems my leak was where the valve is attached to the matrix, the nuts were very loose. Fingers crossed it's sorted...

Anyway thanks Alan! (y)

Found this looking to fix a Mk.£ 2004 panda's matrix..:bang:

many years ago I had an issue on our 86 1000 cl , just like Homeys oslo..,

I got a complete matrix from a scrappy - completely "under-bonnet-job",
again it was a split control valve,:(
bolted that up.. slid matrix back in like a "cassette" and refilled,
never touched ANYTHING inside the cabin..,
not sure why you would need to?,
