Hey guys, first time poster as a mk2 owner i have previously had 4 mk1 Puntos (1 x 1.2 8v 1 x 1.6 and 2 x GT Turbos). I have recently bought a mk2 punto 1.2 8v just to run me about for a while, so far i have replaced the plugs, new battery and servicing it this week (oil, coolant and fuel filter). I did have an accident snapping the top bleed screw off in the pipe, any tips for replacing with a bolt without replacing the pipe?

Also the alternator is outputting 13.99 volts which is fair, the coil packs look new so do the leads but the idle is still quite erratic. I was wondering if there was anything else i could try,

Thanks in advance

I have just done the exact same to the top bleed screw - twisted it off trying to UNSCREW it.

I am going to bleed it all as normal I think and then seal the fu**er (with araldite) until I get a new branch hose from the scrap

I'm sure I have seen someone here replace the back bleeder screw with a metric M10 screw. Not certain if it was M10 but it was a standard metric thread.
ideally you want 14.4 Volts at the battery terminals over 2000 rpm. Thirteens OK at idle.
Dirty connections at the alternator and battery and the earth strap to the top of the gearbox could be robbing the odd tenth of a volt here and there and are worth inspecting and cleaning.
You could try cleaning the throttle body to improve the idle and while the air filter is off check and clean the ecu earth wire on the throttle body.

Well that didn't work 100% so I brought a 1/8 " radiator air vent, drill out the hole then tap it,screw it in and see what happens then
