Technical Headlight adjuster screws broken

Hi,

Yesterday I tried to aim the headlights in my Punto. There are two white "adjuster" screws on the rear side of the headlight, I think all of them are broken in my car: they are not reacting when I twist them.

Is there any ways to aim the headlight without these screws? My friend told me that I need to buy new headlights. I can't believe that, it sounds stupid.

depends how far out of alignment they are as its possible a slight movement of headlight bracket could suffice in some cases
if you have replaced bulbs lately are you sure they are located properly as this is the usual cause of improper beams

Unfortunately yes, if the adjusters have snapped then you will have to get new lights. I did this to one of my lights, it failed the MOT so had to get new ones. The adjusters are not replaceable.

If you can look right inside the adjuster mechanism you should be able to see if it is broken. All it is is a screw with a little bobble on the end that sits in a cup/ As you screw it in and out it pulls or pushes that side of the lamp. The screw snaps if it has been screwed out too far.

One thing you can do is physically get the headlight into the right position and then bond it in place!

Thank you guys. I'll let you know what happened when I'll visit my mechanic because of that. Now I'm using Osram Silverstar H1 bulbs, way better than standard bulbs, only missing the correct adjustment.
