Hi!
My local garage in Sutton Coldfield has quoted
me over £300 for a cambelt change and 72,000 mile service on Old Betsy so I'm having to do the thing myself as I can't afford that sum, having lost so much salary due to poor health!
Some advice please:-
1) Can anyone tell me what type of bits/sockets
I need for the "flywheel damper pulley" - or
alternator drive belt pulley - the drawings show
four round-head bolts but I can't make out what type they are - do I meed Ribe, Spline, Torx or
Allen? Can someone tell me the size please?
2) The only place I can work on it is the top part of our flat car-parking area - can it be done with axle-stands and a trolley-jack? (I did
a Citroen Xantia XUD diesel cambelt that way)
3) I have the timing-tool set (1910 cc TD100 engine, type 182A7.000) and have the bound Fiat
Workshop Manual Vol 3 on the way, apart from these, the usual sockets, spanners, etc., and the parts (which I have) is there anything else I need to get from my local factors before
attempting the cambelt replacement?
Many thanks,
Chris Williams
