we could make it then that what events that a car are not attending, e.g MITCAR and Clubcento, could be open to Centos of the FF stand too. If the car club in a situation like this had a problem, then they should attend in a formal presence, then back to plan A.

I see your point Mase, but then that leaves peeps like me and Claire a bit segregated at some events if we so wish to attend in a formal capacity.

Ive been saying this for ages tho and no one liked the idea !

Ive always sed that what we should do is have FF stands @ shows that the clubs are not representing (if any) as they cant always do all of them every time..

The main problem is finding someone who will put the effort into organising things and taking responsibility for the people involved, for example, if we do manage to get a stand area @ a show etc then they will ask for a contact name/responsible person..all you have to have is one dick who thinks its funny to do handbrake turns etc and you are screwed..as you will have to take full responsibility for that person and their actions :( please dont take my comments as critism as ive been trying to get this idea off the ground for ages..hence the FF weekenders etc..but its just something worth considering ;)

mase its good in theroy but not in practise :(

but imo everyone should have an option where they want to go, i for one will advertise ff if i was on a clubcento stand and would be advertising clubcento if i was on a ff stand, not out of choice but cause of the stickers on my car

its free advertising for the car clubs, so i cant really see a problem with it, would the stanford hall clubcento stand been as busy last year if it wasnt for ff advertising the fact of the stanford show and there was a clubcento stand there, the potential for new members at these shows will be greater if more people get to know about them

:yeahthat:

im glad you mentioned that claire, cause i must of had writen 3-4 posts about having an events co-ord but it seemed to go un-noticed

somthing that I've recognised here is that you say the FF supports clubs and encourages membership, but there are many members on the FF with Centos that are still not members of Clubcento. Pete has already said offering his advice on here is offering a free alternative to joining the owners club and many people come along to events as non members. This isn't such a problem as the majority of people end up joioning afterwards but there are some people that would prefer the cheaper alternative

I see where you are coming from Gaz and Ive always sed that Im more than happy to be an events co-ordinator for the FF for smaller meets etc However I cant say that Id be keen on taking responsibility for all of our members at events lol..

ff cannot force people with centos to become members, although as you say most come on here asking for advice which they get, they do not know the real benefits of joining clubcento, i.e discounts, track days, free food :D, etc...

taking responsibility will be a big job as you are to blame if it goes tits up, but you get praised if it goes well

monies will need to be collected which isnt always a easy job

events will need to be organised months in advance, just in case people drop out

you will need to arrive first at events and be the last to leave

you will have to usher everyone to the correct stand

byt the time you finished organising you be so tired you be going grey and your hair be falling out

why dont club members put the benefit of a club in their sig, might attract more people (y)

I do. Have done for quite a while too. Also if you click on it, it throws you on to Clubcentos home page:D
Clubcento and FIATForum are also in my sig I think on Yorkshire Cruise and Cartorque. I always plug both when I am new to a site too.

wow ok i have just caught up with this thread and i find it shocking on a particular post i read about members leaving the forum? seems pathetic imo.

A huge majority of people want thisand to me that speaks volume!

the end of the day the thread was started to help FF why do we use this forum, why do we donate to it? over 90% of the people who use this forum gets something out of it, so why not give something back? get the forum attending event show off a few members cars and get it known amoungst the fiat people out there?

the forum has given FREE advertising to clubs, so why cant the Fiat Forum do something for itself and get itself known???

I am willing to put time in to organising this with the help of others.
