Like Pete said, we're not stopping anyone doing anything. We don't agree with it for our own reasons which we have discussed but at the end of the day, it comes down to what Helz (I think it was) said: Who is gonna organise it all?

It will take a lot of time and effort and if some has that to spend on the FF having a stand at events then go for it.

It's easy to say you're gonna do something and stand by it but when it comes to the crunch, the people taking responsability will have to follow it up. There will be a lot of people relying on you

I'd like to see a stand with cars on from regular forum users and "staff cars" sort of thing too. Mods cars. To show off what quality we have on the forum and the enthusiasm over the cars our members have. I would also like to see club names on the banner to show promotion of owners clubs. Flyers too on all stands (not just on FF stand) with info about the clubs and forums and what benefits each offer.

I think what it comes down to is making a clear distinction between the forum and the clubs. It needs to be made clear what the differences are in order to properly promote each one effectively

....obviously I'd like to see Centos on the club stand instead of the forum stand because I aim to promote Clubcento to it's full potential but I can also appreciate that people should park where they feel most comfortable. Personally, I feel better about being parked with all the Cinqs/Seis because it shows what we have as a club and I am very enthusiastic about the little cars.

I think maybe I am missing something here, someone above said you probably get a max of 10 cars per stand, so this "park with everyone else" i dont get. Do you mean basically you get a free for all??

I assumed only cars on stands would be allowed in, with others having to park in the car park outside...?

I'm actually focusing on events like Stanford Hall where we can fit about 45 cars easily on our stand. In fact, last year there were about 53 Centos there.

christ are we finally getting somewhere

right i do agree on the fact that the long standing forum members should get first dibs if you want to call it as they have supported the forum longer bla bla bla....

i also have been in agreement with FF having leaflets on the stand to do with other clubs - i dont agree that the clubs should have thier name on the banner as it is a fiat forum banner not a club banner and as ben said it wouldnt be dont for us and probably confuse people to what the stand was anyway.

against what Emspem said - the thread should not be banned, it has got heated but i suppose we kinda expected that and it hasnt got abusive just people arguing thier point - fair enough, if you dont like the thread dont read it - simple as :)

hasnt she grown up

missed me sammi?

Sorry to revive this thread.

But are we going to go ahead with this plan of having a stand, if we are the sooner we start the better chance we have of getting in to some of the shows this year.(y)

IMO we should make our presence felt with promotions this year, get some contacts together and get an idea of which shows would be best for us then attack in 2006. Don't want to rush these things and end up with not enough cars or anything!

I was thinking along the lines of Trax, Donny South and weston wheels which are towards the end of the year and iirc not car number limited, Weston was a good weekend last year:D and they would give us a chance to try out the organising.

Steve

Just assumed trax was not limited as a car club I belong to is still taking names for anyone to go on the stand I think they are at about 30 cars already. I will check though.

Steve

i think it really depends on what type of club it is, imprezas always have a big presence at trax, so do corsasport stand and pug's if they see it as an owners club they may give you more space, but not like a 'cruise site'

Only reason I said to stop the thread is cos it was getting out of hand, people were obviously not reading posts properly and reacting on a tangent to original proposal put fwd by u - it was going round in circles - it's not that I 'don't like the thread' and it's made very interesting reading - the thread now seems to be sensible :)
