hi this morning

i noticed my handbrake is failry weak..

i tightend it a few week agos and it was easily moved when the handbrake was off

so itightend thsi at the bottom fo the car.

now recently when i put the handbrake ON

despite the 3 clicks its not holding it properly, its

what is the issue>

mine was pretty weak aswell, so i decided to replace my rear brakes last weekend, and when i took the rear drums off, i noticed that the spring holding it together snapped, so have a look if thats not ur problem. i fixed it now and its better than ever!!

Sorry couldnt hear you??

so u just replaced th srpings or th rear brakes and shoes?

i get the same issue when i get out of the car and i hear a groaning nosie, i think that is related.

Take the drums off, if the hand brake aint holding, its in most cases the shoes fault. If you dont have the time to take the drum off, there is a small hole on the front of the drum from you can see the shoes thickness, or prise off the plastic cap on the rear side of the brake assembly and check inside with a lamp.

Check the cable anchorage. Not unknown for them to be corroded.May need a spot of welding
