I've bought a new handbrake gaiter from Fiat but is there a way to replace it without removing the whole of the centre console? It looks as if it clips in from underneath?

You don't need to remove the console.

There's a rectangular plastic moulding (with retaining clips moulded on the bottom of it) attached to the bottom of the gaiter. Squeeze the sides of the gaiter at the bottom to release the retaining clips. I think there are 2 retaining clips on each side of the plastic moulding and possibly 1 at the back and/or front.

The last genuine Fiat one I bought had the rectangular moulding sewn into the gaiter, so the clips were clearly visible before fitting it.

Just sold this part to the owner of my old stilo and just as davren says
.. if its not broke it should pop of alignment and come out with a squish ;)
