Where do you keep your owners handbook?

There is a large wallet for the handbook and other vehicle documents, but in typical Italian style it won't actually fit on the front shelf which is where I would have thought it belonged!

However, I did note that it has some Velcro strips on the back of the wallet. Are they there for any particular purpose?

I keep mine at home as well and have photocopied anything that I might need and keep it in the "hidden" compartment. However, if you want to keep it in the car there should be velcro strips on the wallet that enable you to stick it to the carpet on the inner wings in the boot area.

Unfortunately if you use the velcro strips for this purpose you will find that it quickly makes a horrible mess of the carpet. I noticed my carpet was just beginning to fray at the point of attachment within a couple of days of taking delivery, so I transferred the handbook wallet to a cupboard in the study. I just use a downloaded copy now whenever I need to check anything.

A nice idea sadly let down by inadequate materials.

Get the iPhone app it has the hand book in it.

Not everyone has an iphone.

I was looking to upgrade my average reception iphone 3GS to an iphone 4 last day but was been encouraged by the Sales rep to go for a new android phone to avoid been locked into a 2 year contract.

The 'android' smartphone is supposedly selling 3:1 in relation to the iphone in the US. But I've got 'used' to the interface now since it was designed for kids that trust their intuition and not someone who had to train themselves for older mobile phone interfaces.
I've been impressed with the FF app on the iphone - is it any 'better' on the ipad or is it just simply over-sized ?
:Offtopic:

Getting back to the handbook I leave my 'handbook' in the house to
1. Save on weight in the car - the less 'stuff' the better (a bit sad...).
2. If someone robbed my car not having the handbook with the service history and the invoices makes it harder to 'shift on' (paranoid...:)).
3. Fiats are so reliable now they don't break down so you don't need to know which fuse is which.

Can't the service record part be seperated from the main handbook then? In my current car I keep that bit (it's a little booklet thing in my VW) inside and the usual handbook in the car. I've needed to refer to it in the past to check what certain warning lights mean.

On the last 2 500 purchases someone did exactly that - seperate the service history book from the handbook - never to be found again . I've had to got to a lot of trouble to get them re-instated. Still it helped in getting a few bob knocked off the asking price. :)
Re warning lights - the only ones you really have to worry about is the oil and the ABS / brake light :) - only kidding. :D

WARNING! VERY RUDE JOKE:

Question: What is 9 1/2 inches long and satsfies every c***?

Answer: An iPad.

Sorry, I'll get me coat...

We're probably pushing the 'boundaries' PJ.
At least on an ipad the excuse that's been dished out is that they pressed the 'dislike' button by mistake. You cann't beat a proper keypad. :)

Mine is velcroed in boot. Only take it off once a year for service so no problems with carpet. I Velcro mine to side not bottom

This time remembered to use multitouch to zoom in to the like button before I pressed it. Heidi will understand, all you others still using mechanical methods of data entry involving springs and metal contacts or dragging a chunk of plastic across your tabletop connected by a wire wouldn't understand.

By the way my handbook is velcro'd to the carpet on the side of my boot too. It's just how us iPad owners roll. :slayer:

I read my handbook and now have no need for it in the car.

That's how us PC users roll :p
