Re: Stilo Rolling Road shootout / Tuning day...

Oh poop! just had a warning light.

It says " engine control system failure, check engine".

If it is still there in the morning i will unplug the battery for an hour and see if that does the trick, still running brilliantly tho', still getting better.

Yes, it's threaded down past the battery and occupies the area where the old box was.

And the bracket fits to the same hole that the original filter box was fitted to :)

But there it will receive hot air from the radiator and then when bay gets hot much of the gain will be loss.

Morning People!

Right... bit of an update...

I still have all the errors but after reading the last replies i may have not left the battery disconnected long enough. How long should this be done for?

Also, when you start the car, the engine is fine for a second or two and then it sounds like something clicks (sounds like its nr drivers side) and then the faults flash up. The engine seems to be running ok but it is still a bit hesitant at low revs. It kind of feels like the TC is kicking in and reducing power but the asr isnt on!

Im at work at the mo, but i have a day off tomorrow (out on the beers tonight!(y) ) should i take it to my local shocking dealer or is the something else i can do?

I checked all the connections, they seem ok. The MAF sensor seems to be connected ok, is there any way to check for def?

should i be concerned about these errors?

on a good note i took my mate out last night and he loved it! said it sounded like a subaru, i kind of agree!

Re: Stilo Rolling Road shootout / Tuning day...

how many miles u done mate? i would leave it till you've done a far few hundred then if the problem is still there! I know my asr light, etc... happen on and off but ive about 300miles since the remap now and its all cleared up! Maybe yours ull take longer as you've got the induction for the ecu to learn aswell!

Alright rob, i think ive done about 200 ish maybe more... Ive just seen the post from Nick on stilosport saying not to worry unless it says stop engine so thats good!

ill disconnect the battery for a bit longer tomorrow then ill see what nick and al's say on the examiner...

p.s any luck with the vids mate, cant wait to see them!

Re: Stilo Rolling Road shootout / Tuning day...

Right fella's

Just to set some minds at rest...

If on the 2.4 you have an engine light and the error code "check engine" on your screen DO NOT WORRY.... I have had the same message on mine and just had it on the examiner at work. All it is is the ECU detecting an error in its settings. The error is.. Fuel mixture. They appear to be running lean on low rev's which is not a problem merely a niggle. As our cars were the first 2.4's done in this way there were likely to be minor pains after.. Unfortunately Pete seems to think it may mean another trip there to adjust the map slightly. I've had mine reset and will test again tomorrow to confirm it but DONT WORRY about the check engine light (for now:eek: )

Hope this sets some minds at rest..

The reason this didnt show up on sunday is most likely due to most of us not really driving in low rev's on the way home!

Mine and Kubi's both blipped on in traffic..
