They aren't that fiddly thankfully being elasticated none of the tensioning issues, but ease of fitting on the ones I've got is directly related to how much tread you have one the tires and how much space there is in your wheel arches. Also experience says carry some thing water proof to put them in when you hit gritted roads as they can soak up a lot of water.

As above. More luck than judgement I had a carrier bag in the boot when I used mine as they were wringing with water. I also put them on a rise in the washing machine after use to get the road grime out so it didn't eat away at them.
