Grande punto sporting - 17 year old - direct line!

Got a 1.2 mk1 punto sport, got it in late august/september time. Insurance with LV who my parents have been with for nearly 30 years gave us a quote of £2800, that was fully comp and as me as a named 2nd driver with my mum being lead driver. For all the 30+ years she has driven she hasnt earned any NCD due to the poilcy being misunderstood by us and not properly explained by the insurers. Can't use my dads 30+ years of NCD as he is currently using that on his car. By the way im nearly 18 and driving since march
Cant wait till the price drops...
Eating my wallet...

I'd check the small print on your policy, sounds like someone sold you the insurance company !!!

Geeezz there's nothing like pricing the drivers off the road, and they wonder why folk risk it driving without insurance

Thank heavens for having a few years under my belt :D

I pay £2424 a year with my dad as the main driver who has 10years no claims, I'm 19, had my license 1year 6months, live in a rough area and have a 1.9mjet and it is worth every penny :) :D

"cought out fronting" means ?

If you say your a second driver on a policy but your actually the main driver it known as fronting (which is illegal) and it invalidates your insurance if you get caught. I heard a story of a girl who was fronting her insurance and she crashed, the insurance company went 2 her college and checked the cctv, saw that she was driving it everyday and they used that as grounds to not pay out (don't know whether its true but it makes you think).

Im 17, took my pass plus the other day and got 10% back from my insurance company (Quinn) :D (y). Now im paying £2,200 for my own policy, fully comp, legal cover and keycare insurance. Thats on an 06 GPS 1.4 16v, so overall i think thats an amazing price.... definately worth doing the pass plus :):slayer:

Pass Plus was great for me, didn't cost me anything (parents have a motorbility car), saved me around £400.

Only annoying thing is, it didn't save me much money the second year, More Than classed it as a years no claims, so renewal only went down £10.

:yeahthat: although its not strictly speaking illegal, but it can load you in a whole load of crap. Its only illegal if and when your insurance company find out and decide not to cover third partys on your behalf in the event of an at fault accident.
