GP Alarm

GP Alarm

I ALWAYS leave the glovebox door open when I leave my GP so that anybody who happens to look inside the car can see that theres nothing in there to steal. I wouldnt usually leave a satnav or Ipod in the car but if I do ever leave ANYTHING in the car its always locked in the boot. After owning 3 convertibles you get used to doing that- insurance will only pay up for stuff nicked from a convertible if its locked in the glovebox or boot and a locked glovebox is an open invitation for crowbar damage!

The only things I leave visible in the car are: a box of tissues, street directory, and occasionally a half empty bottle of water.

meta work closely with Fiat to make plug & go alarms for the fiat range...ask for info at your iat dealer or in aftermarket parts catalogue.

Been fitting meta stuff for 11 years & dont ever remember having a faulty one!

Thought i would drag up an old thread instead of starting a new one. How much does the aftermarket alarm cost? I was looking at Clifford, Cobra etc alarms and they can get pretty pricey. Also once the Meta alarm is fitted is the alarm enabled/disabled through the standard remote key fob when locking/unlocking the car? Because with the other aftermarket units a seperate key fob has to be used doesnt it? and that would just annoy me.

Hi,
I had a clifford concept 650 intalled on my old car after a break in. Its worth noting that the list price of most of these alarm companies is way way overstated. e.g. GAP security quoted me £400 straight off and i got them down to £300 all in. The alarm was good (although the proximity alert was annoying) and it came with a pc link so u could hook up your laptop and tweak all your settings. You can also get cool things like remote engine start. BUT i have decided not to get one on this car becuase i dont want to have to carry round an extra key fob. That and i no longer live in nottingham city centre so no need really.

Sorry to butt in, seems some people have said yes and some no.

Any ideas if the 08 1.9 sporting have a alarm or is it just a immobiliser.

Thx

Yes,the alarm comes with no fob & uses original remote fobs.

They are breaking into your car which usually mean them being in the cabin. What is stopping them pulling the boot release and opening the boot while they are in the front?

I guess for them to get in the boot it means they have to have been in the car longer and are more likely to be disturbed

Does the boot release button work without the key in ignition,, i have not tried.

I suppose geting in through the back seats aint too diff,, my calibra was done this way back in July
