Technical Glow plug light

Hello Guys,

My daughters fiat bravo diesel has a problem with a flashing glow plug light after the engine has been started, she says it flashes on/off 29 times then goes off until you restart the engine then it goes through the cycle again, does anyone have any idea what it could be? I've looked at the fuses but all seems good I've never come across this problem before so needing the good people here to point me in the right direction if possible? :slayer:

Hi can you tell us what model/year the Bravo is?
It could be the glow-plug relay or one or more of the glow-plugs themselves

Sorry for delay in reply only I had given up checking here for replies anyway its the 2000 1.9jtdi model I have got to strip down the egr valve over next couple days as its completely lost all will, driving it speed wont go above 50 if she is lucky? Lol so as weather is nice I'm taking the opportunity to have a good look.

flashing means a fault in the system ( Very helpful..!!!")

could be just a dead plug - that's what happened our Marea JTD,

don't delay though or it may take other bit's with it,

Mine occasionally does this. Car starts and stops fine. I ignore it. It goes out after a short time once on the move. Put it down to dodgy Italian electrics.

if it only does it occasionally - then you may well be right,

if it does it after EVERY start then it's worth investigating,

Now if this were an unspeakable brand from France I could tell you exactly what's causing this..... But it's a proper car so nowhere near as many faults

Check your glow relay to begin with. Should have a multi plug and 1 or 2 bolt in connectors depending on year, usually located near the battery
