Gears or CLutch or What??

Hi all,

I was out last night driving and I noticed when I put my foot down on the clutch, it felt like it was sticking a bit. It happened a couple of weeks ago and I was going to go to the garage but it stopped.

So, I got home last night and didnt think anythin of it. Got in this morning, got bout 5 mins down the road and it was still happening anf then all of a sudden it stopped and it felt like the clutch was really lose when I put my foot on it and then when I tried to put it in gear, it wouldnt! Now car is sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck.

Anyone have any idea what this is??

i had that problem, it was the slave cylinder, dont have a clue what this means but i know it cost me £50 to get fixed.

thanks for reply. And when I mean it wouldnt above, I mean it wouldnt go into gear!!
Thats not too bad i suppose if its the same thing.
Should be under warranty anyway I think, only bought it a month ago and I got a 3 month guarantee on engine and gearbox.

just on to my mechanic and he reckons the clutch has collapsed and also now the starter motor has gone!
