Hey all,

Need your help again, lol, just for a change.

My 5th gear is playin up in the car, my mechanic mate says its probably not a faulty gearbox, its probably due to vibration.

SO what i really need to know is what would cause vibration near the engine/gearbox area?

My mate said have a look at the engine mounts, but i don't know what the hell they look like let alone where they actually are, lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

cheers

Dave

Argh...

There are 2 wngine hounts that might be giving yu problems-

Front Nearside and Back.

Yu'll need the car on jack and stands to get a look at them, but the rear mount supports both the tranny casing and the engine...Its a big long (well 150mm ish) bit of steel that supports the engine just to one side of the cat.

The Front NS mount yu can only see properly with the NS wheelarch liner out...otherwise yu'll only see the top of it and that wont tell yu much!

There should be some movement in these mounts...not that much mind, the engine shouldnt be loose- the mounts only give it flexibility!

GrpN Catback Exhaust system on...rattles like f**k, but very nice!!!
