Haynes manual says 2.4 litres of gearbox oil. I suspect this is for OHV car. Mine is a Sporting and I drained one litre of old oil out but could only get 1.5 litres of new oil in. Is this right? I don't have a handbook which may give correct figure. Is 1.5 litres correct. It wont take any more.
Thanks folkes.

My book says 2.4 for the Sporting Seicento, sorry pointing at wrong column. Did you drain all from diff as well?:)

I asked about the Spanish group and they tell me that a Cinquecento holds more than a Seicento and that less than 2 liters fit in the Seicento. I remember that mine didn’t fit much either. If it comes out of the hole, that means it’s full. That’s it.

I think it's the same box as panda classic with fire engine. Capacity listed as 1.65 litre.
As long as car is on level and you fill up till it dribbles back out filler/level hole you are good.
Don't use gl5 gear oil

If you can zoom in on my photo at #2 of my AutoData Manual it indicates the Sporting engine is used in both Cinq and Sei the 1.1 176B2.000, but the earlier Cinq uses a smaller capacity gearbox, assuming my data is correct.:)
Hi Mike,

Yes I saw that but think it's typo in book, as too much coincidence that 2.4 litres which same for much older design box for the 900cc ohv engines .together with op getting about 1.5litres in his box which is very close to 1.65.

Best wishes
J

Edit this may be incorrect,
See post 12.

So long as filler/level hole uses it should be no issue.

As I understand it both the Cinq and the Sei when in "Sporting" form were both 1.1 litre engines or am I wrong? :)
Yes all Sporting were 1108 engine at least for Seicento.
For 1108 engine normal with C526 it's 2,4 L
For 1108 engine normal or Sporting with C514 it's 1.65 L (Fiat has bugs with specs).
For C514 actual spec is 75w85 GL4.

Thanks folks for all the posts. Draining oil was easy with two different size allen keys Its an R reg red Cinq sporting with 39k miles on clock. garaged and not used between 2000 and 2025.
Filled oil till it trickled out so 1.5 litres it is. Its had over £3,200.00 spent on mechanicals in past year. [not by me] Drives superbly. Could eat dinner of the underside as they say! Want a handbook but £32 on ebay, not likely. Pity the German one is only £10, should have payed attention at school.
