Technical Gearbox fitting issue

hi i have a 03 punto,
can a gearbox of a punto mk2 1.2 16v go on a punto mk2 1.2 8v as no one can answer me that one n now its pissing me of

so the fittings are the same then

yes. insides may be different ratios, but outside will be the same

These boxes look the same but don't have the appropiate mounting holes for the gearbox mounting bracket on the mk 2 Punto. Heres the evidence.... Spot the difference

the fitting hole never lined up at all

An older box is also more likely to have problems so best avoided anyway.
