Technical Gear trouble

Hi there i'm a newbie and not very technical sorry.
So the problem is when its hot i'm having trouble changing gears its very stiff and it almost feels as if you have to ram it in, there is no noise like crunching just very stiff. When its cool/cold there is no problem.
Anyone have any ideas whats wrong and will it be expensive to fix?

Check the gearbox oil level.

Gearbox fluid is a DIY task my friend

Has it been a progressive thing? or sudden?
Has there been odd fowl smells? - Any patches under the car?

Quite possibly. May need a new gearbox oil seal and bearing, too. Or even a slave cylinder. But you have to start somewhere.

at first i thought it was me lol
Then when i was looking fluid it was burning off on the exhaust and it was smoking like a bitch

My god it smells!
