Technical Gear Lever Assembly problem

Hello,

My Cinqs (93/L) gear stick has just died, it moves around willy nilly. Called the AA Man out and he said the gearbox itself is fine, just something fallen out of the assembly. Gear stick can go up/down but not left/right.

Towed me to local garage and left car outside, for them to open tomorrow. AA Man said shouldn't take long to repair, as long as they can get part off Fiat.

Great, I'm stuck in rural Suffolk for another day !

Garage just phoned..

"Gear box assembly falling to pieces". Going to cost £150 to repair! ouch!

They said they had part in stock, hope there not taking me for a ride. Although thev'e been fixing whole families cars for years so I imagine they want to keep our custom!
