Grande 2008 1.4 petrol
There was a loud bang followed by loss of gear control - stuck in 2nd, gear stick loose forward/backwards - got home though. Fairly obvious fault: one of the gear control cables had snapped. Got it off and now trying to source replacement. Don't particularly want to pay around £100 from main dealer.
Part number is 55199359 (it's the shorter nearside one with the thread/nut adjuster). Found it at FiatAlfaDealerParts.co.uk (£44.99) but they are out of stock. However, they list it as 55230721 55199359 (i.e. two part numbers). Shop4Parts.co.uk has 55230721 (£34.37 + £3.95 P&P) but doesn't appear to stock 55199359. PartsWorld-UK.com has pictures of 55230721 that look identical to my broken 55199359 (though it's hard to assess the length).
Does anyone know whether these two numbers are actually the same part? (guess there must be a reason for different number but it could for instance be that Fiat has two suppliers).
By the way, tried to access ePer but it just gives me errors. maybe it doesn't like Chrome.
