Technical Gear Box, *Clunk* Now not changing gears

Hi, I have a fiat punto Mk2 it has around 65K on the clock and today when I started off as I put the car into reverse, there was a loud *Clunk* noise as the gear engaged, the car revesed ok, when I tried to change into 1st it would not change, total resistance on the stick. It seems to bite ok, tho I'm going to recheck that and I have had no warning that this was going to happen at all, gear changes have all been fine.

I hope it is the clutch and not the gearbox :yuck:

Any advice will be appriciated.
