Hello!

Around about 2 months ago i heard a whining noise coming from the car, three days later the car starts spluttering as if its low on fuel, managed to get it ti the garage and figured it was the fuel pump.
sure enough once it was replaced it was running smooth once again.heard the noise again on sunday and managed to sort a pump for tuesday morning (today) and once again the noise stopped and the car ran fine, later that night whislt doing some deliveries (Pizzas - Nothing illegal :nono: ) the car started coughing and spluttering as if the pump had gona again but this time no whining noise.
I refuse to belive that the brand new pump is faulty and i havent got low fuel, (about half a tank)

Any ideas??

Im not a technical guy what so ever and any help would be really appreciated as it is really urgent...

could be Ziggy122, i let it run low alot...
how do i find out if thats the case or get it cleaned?

Upset anybody that mite have put something in ur tank like sugar?

i dont think so, i dont really have any enemies as such, plus i live at the top of a hill on a farm, and anyone couldnt come near the house without the dogs spotting them outside, they are out all night and bark at anything....

Was just a thought, id go with ziggys idea, try get the tank cleaned and a new filter, think filters infront of o/r wheel, i asked about the filler cap as i new somebody that had a sabb that had sevral lift pumps fitted over a year and turned out hed upset some kids who toped his tank up with something other than fuel every month lol

well as soon as i get a chance ill get it to the garage, thing is when i first start it, for the first 3-4 mins it runs perfect... then starts bogging, almost as if the ignition is cutting, could it be coil pack/ECU??
got a spare ECU from identical model but not sure whether its as easy as just swapping them over?

i had the fuel filter changed about 6/7 months ago, like i said before a do let it run low on fuel alot so could the fuel filter already be covered in **** or is that the average life span of one of those?

When I take the petrol cap off mine there is a release of pressure. Like a lot ! Could this be the vent blocked?

I have had the car cut out on me once. But no mechanical noises. It also misses like wehn running at low revs

I too would like to know what it looks like and how to clean it. Can anyone help with a picture?

I have scoured Haynes to no avail.
