Technical Fuel pump

Technical Fuel pump

The pump takes fuel from the tank, the fuel level drops and forms a vacuum in the tank there is a
breather often in the fuel cap that lets air into the tank if this is blocked vacuum will build up in
the tank and stop the fuel flow. If you give it a test with the tank cap loose and it still has the fault
then it's not this. if the car runs ok then it's likely you have a blocked breather.
As far as I know there isn't a vent in the cap. We're not allowed to vent fumes into the atmosphere like we used to!

I took out the pump and cleaned the filter.
As the picture show, this I the old gasket. The new is wider 21mm.
As some u mentioned, it must be airtight around the pump and tank. But, is it vital for the pressure or the amount of liter the pump delivers? When I testet the pump outside, it pumped 1,68 l/minute or 100,8l/h. This is with some air in the intake, as I just tried it a small plastic container.

Nice images, 🙂

Do you have pics of the power supply plug?

I am trying to see how many wires..

I have seen 4,5 and 6 in my research🤔

Hi!
Sorry that this some time, but I got the car working and since then I forgot all about it;)

To get the car working again, I used the old gasket. Uses some gasket sealant to make it more air tight, but I still got some fuel fumes in the car.
Since it is summer, I have most of the time been driving with the roof down. Not that strong fume, but with the roof up and windows closed...well I would not light a sigarett in there.

Soon winter again, so I will do some more investigation around this.

But if some can confirm what is the right gasket for this pump, with picture also, thanks...

Looking at your picture I looks like your pump P/N: is 46427664

The gasket is: 7743530

Used on Barchetta, Punto, and Ducato (some models)

See: https://www.sparepartstore24.co.uk/oen-7743530
That is the one I tried to get on. Not possible. Tried to put it on the fuelpump, and I tried to put it on the fueltank. I also tried to cut of some of the gasket, stil not possible.
Without grease/fat, with grease/fat and all of the tricks, but it would not get on.

How odd. Not saying it didn't happen but I think others have changed the gasket in the past with no problem. Was your one an official Fiat part?
