Hi folks,

Been having a tinker with he Cinq Sporting today and I think the offside front shock is on its way out :(

That side of the car seems a lot 'bouncier' (is that a real word??) than the nearside front - is that normal??

Anyone have any ideas as to how much it would cost to replace them at an independent type garage - I realise they should both be done at the same time?

I don't fancy having a crack at them myself tbh - not confident enough yet (other than overwhelming confidence in my ability to b*lls it up).

Thanks guys (y)

It really is an easy job. All you need apart from normal tools is a vice and some spring compressors. The guide above is magnificent, much better than the Haynes.

At a garage, you're probably talking about 3 or 4 hours labour for something you can do (an extra pair of hands helps when re-fitting) in an afternoon. You just need to be careful about re-seating the springs, but it's obvious once they're out.
