Technical Front shock absorber replacement

Has anyone got a step by step method for replacing the front shock absorber on a 2000 Seicento? And, do I need a special kind of spring compressor?

It isn't too hard, but you will need a spring compressor.

Either the ones Halfords or Machine Mart do will be fine. But the guide is good. Also covered well in the Cinq Haynes and the Sei Factory Manual.

Got spring compressors from screwfix - £15 for a pair!

I did mine last weekend, it's pretty basic to be honest, don't get caught out by the 18mm bolt head and think its 19mm like the nut on the bottom strut mount, easy to round off if you do that like I did. Otherwise it's all straightforward. Take care using spring compressors, they bloody terrify me having seen one break.

There was a place on ebay doing a set for £7 delivered, i got a pair and they do the job perfectly well.
