Just been quoted £452 for front discs and pads.....I think they are made of pure gold.... and I have just paid £356 for a 36000 mile service! No wonder that they have a nice showroom....[emoji35]

Main Dealer Rip-off! Use a good Independent............
Interested in what’s normal mileage for replacement, my 1.6 is at 42K and on third set of tyres and no mention of need to replace pads either at 36k service, tyre change or mot.
I'm at 33,000 miles, second set of front tyres, original rears and original brake pads and discs, front pads being only 10% worn, although I find that a bit difficult to believe. Next service due in 3-4 months
Argreed don't see going through a whole set of tyre's yet only using 10% of the pads
2 and a half hour front front discs ands pads? Seems like a lot

Just got the bad news from my service, 37,500 miles. New discs and pads all round. £260 fitted for the fronts, slightly more for the rears
I am at 50,000 miles. I had to change front brake pads for the first time since I bought the car new, as well as a new set of wipers. The cost was about £250.
I am surprised to see people change discs. In my limited experience, it could take several decades and well over 100,000 miles before the discs needed replacing. At least on normal cars.
Oh one more thing, the dealer wanted to change my front pads... last year! So yes, they lasted a whole year and my 500X is my daily driver!
