Hello,

I have a registered mes 5.4 version with vgate link mis bluetooth Obd adapter.

I can go to the menu and start a Dpf force regeneration bit it throwsback a sequence error.

Is it possible to do a forced Dpf at anytime?

It seems that you can only do this when the systems has an error regarding Dpf??

Has someone experience with ad hoc forced dpf regeneration.

We have a ducato 2.3 2020-2021

In MES It does not show a SGW module when you do a scan for modules.
I can use actuators like light on display etc so it seems that there is no SGW block.
I also managed to silence the sound of the Seatbelt.

Regards,

Rankman.

I got it working.

The Dpf regeneration did not work because the idle rpm was 800.
It seems it has to be 850 +/- 50.

I read it before but did not check it, because I assumed that idle was ok….

After pushing the throttle a little bit to around 880-890 the procedure started succesfully.

The filter % droped to around 11% so this was perfect.

Then after shutting down the regeneration it sets the pdf value to 45.

I’ve read somewhere that this is normaal to make sure the next automatic regeneration starts earlier than it should.

Have you downloaded the MY19 Forced regeneration file from the Downloads section -

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.
I’ll try the procedure in short time.

Two questions:

1-
My DPF light never comes on.
It is on the display but never lights up.
Any idea why it never lights up?

2-
Is this a general procedure for all Dpf vehicles?
And can it be done at any time or only when the light comes on on the display?

The facility to carry out a forced regeneration from the dashboard is a special order feature intended for delivery vans and other vehicles where the general pattern of use is such that they may be more susceptible to early blockage of the DPF due to being driven insufficient distances or in other ways that an automated regeneration may not occur. It is not a standard feature on all vans.

"Normal" vans will carry out automatic regenerations without driver interaction when the pressure differential between the pre and post DPF pressure sensors indicate that a certain level of blockage has been reached. The regenerations can be started and controlled differently according to the operating conditions of the vehicle at the time the regeneration is required. This is all controlled by the vehicle's ECU.

Starting a forced regeneration through diagnostics is a different process to a normal automated regeneration and involves the vehicle's engine being controlled to relatively high rpm to force the conditions to complete a regen. It is I believe a different strategy on normal vans to the type of forced regeneration that can be carried out by the driver on vehicles equipped with the on-board facility as described in the handbook supplement. The latter as I understand it more closely follows the routine regeneration strategy, albeit being initiated manually on demand, rather then automatically by the vehicle.

On normally equipped vans without the additional manual regeneration feature, the DPF warning light will only illuminate in circumstances where it is required to notify the driver of a problem. If carrying out a forced regeneration on normal vans via diagnostic software, it is normally recommended to change the engine oil as soon as possible after running the regeneration process, as it can be quite hard on the engine and may involve degradation of the oil due to excessive amounts of unburnt fuel being deposited in the sump during the procedure. It is only meant to be run as a last resort to attempt to clear a DPF which has become excessively blocked to the extent that a normal automatic regeneration is unable to be started by the vehicle.
