I've been looking round at doing this for a while, but can't find a guide for the MK2 Punto. I want to, if possible, wire them up to the interior light, so that when I open the doors, the footwell lights come on.

What I have gathered from the threads I've read is to use LED strips over cathode tubes as they're a bit stronger and less likely to break.

Is there any guide on how to do this? Cheers.

easiest way would be to fit door switches in the A posts fused and connected to your leds
i buy mine from china on ebay for pennies but they can take 3 weeks to come:)

forgot to add take photos as you do it and post up how its done

some thing like what? lighting in the footwells when the doors open? Yes it works i have it done :p

It would really help if I posted the link to what I was talking about wouldn't it! Sorry gaffer!

^^ That is what I meant to link!

Also, I've got two questions (well, kinda three :p)

1) Would it be difficult to locate a switch into this little circuit so that, if I wanted to, I could stop the footwell lights coming on with the interior lights, but still have the interior light itself come on? If so, where abouts in the circuit would that go?

2) What colour do y'all think would look the best? I've got a Azzure Astrale (something like that) Mia (the one with the matt black bumpers as standard - mine are in the process of being changed) So i've got the really blue interior. I'm thinking either white or blue lighting for the footwell

I have just done this in my MK1 :D with cold cathode tubes inster of LED`S:yuck: i just had to solder a negitive wite to the trackthat the festoon bulb fits into and then run that wire to the power box and took the positive from the back of the siggy lighter so when i open my doors the festoon bulbs lights upand so do my footwell neons (y) and they also come on when i turn the festoon light on by hand :)

a switch... it could be done just have the break in the negative wire but why would you want a switch they only come on when the doors open or when you take the keys out the ignition, and them ones off ebay are too big, my strip of LED's are 8cm and its more then enough and there very bright but its up to you how and where you want them

Oh, also i have the LEDS that are flush so its a skinny little strip rather then the big bulbs there with the big bulbs you would see them and if its in the back seat and some one sits in the back, i guess it would be easyer to brake them or take them off then my flush LED strip, i will take a picture of my led strip tomorrow with out the light on so you can see what type i got, ill post a pic of how bright they are in a new post
