My Punto 1.9 2004, today I went to work I drop my key fob! Pick up and went into my car and start the engine it turn over but it won't fire. On the dash icon look like a locker hole. I open my key fob the glass tube I am not sure what they are called is smash broken glass. Lucky I have spare key without immobiliser switch it start fine. Is the tube intercept signal? If I buy other glass tube would it work direct fit or need to reprogramming? Thanks.

The fat key with the push button operates the door and has the glass tube.

The spare key also has the glass tube.

The tube has to be programmed

The tube is a microchip with an antenna. The car sends out a signal when you start it and the chip returns a signal, if the signal from the chip is one pre programmed into the car and is recognised then the car will start.

Basically you need a new chip and it needs to be programmed to the car.

Thanks, I have MultiEcuScan full version I'll try to reprogramming once I have the tube.

I was surprised MES can do this and apparently it cannot?

As far as I can see MES can program your working keys to a new body computer.

Update:My local specialist Auto electrical has reprogramming the code after install a new chip glass tube with aftermarket fob from eBay last Thursday it works fine but... Today I have issues to open and closed the immobiliser door switch on the fob key. The key is brand new so the battery is. It start the engine and all immobiliser locker it works what it could be? Fuse or a faulty signal sensors (black cap) at the centre on dashboard?

The worry now is when you dropped your key you have also damaged the radio electronics that operate the door.

When you press the key button does the red light on the key come on?

The red light it do work when press, it was fine after the man reprogramming one day later it doesn't work.
