My front passenger footwell is soaking when been raining- few towels to soak it up. Then leaving the car engine on with heater.

Goes slightly into the back- not near as bad as front.

This a common thing? Just a run about so I am not keen to be throwing money at it when a few towels and run the heater to dry out.

Check the duckbills in the scuttle are clear - they often get blocked, causing the scuttle to fill with water until it finds another way out. Very common, but fortunately both simple and easy to clear them.

Sound advice, had to ask the same question on this a muzt site for fiat owners. So, i have a picture of the said culprit so hopefully with the info give previously you will understand. The duck bill is the black plastic part that you can pull out of the hole in the lower left. Clean out and push back in so it sits flush with the top.

Just open the bonnet and look at the firewall below the heater air intake. The plastic pods hanging down are there to stop engine smells getting into the cabin. The get clogged with dead leaves, etc.
