Styling fixing plates without screws

hi all

how do i go about putting my new shiny number plates on without drilling holes into them, iv got surronds on the old ones atm and wana keep them for the new ones if possible

you buy adhesive number plate stick on pads.
get them in halfords.

yer i got sum with the plates but are they safe, if i go over a bump will they fall off??

i mite have to take the surrounds off as there only adhesive pads stuck on as i got no screws from the scrappy wen i got them, unless i can screw them on secure ill ave a go n report back (wen ive finished mi breakfast tht is!!!)

wel screw the surrounds via the OE number plate screw points.then stick the plates on

all sorted!!! screwed on the surronds and self adhesive pads for the number plates

looks ace!

lol well mine are sitting nicely now, its just started raining so they mite not be on laters hahaha ill wait n see

I'd always screw my plates on, regardless of whether it looks good/bad

Number plates are getting stolen more often than would be imagined, with the new rules on getting plates made up. Why make it easier for thieves? You wouldn't sellotape your doors shut at night instead of locking the car would you?

i cleaned them with thinners so yes, its cos the punto bumper where the number plate goes is curved and number plate is straight so after a few weeks it comes off at the ends, iv just super glued it on lol

super glue will crack in the 1st frost. a little sikaflex or the like would be better

the number plate goes in the boot not the bumper (you do realise this yeah?)

best bet is to use stikaflex/ tigerseal to stick that mofo down... superglue goes brittle in cold... and if you have to remove the plates you will take most of the paint with it...

You can get plates made up soo easily now 'days anyway, and its just as much effort to rip off stuck on plates as it is to unscrew them bonus of having a one off car, if you get a speeding ticket after someone stole your plates you can prove its not you
