Evening Guys

After have a quick search threw a couple of posts about cd multi changers.

i have just got a 6cd multi changer and head unit with the liner, but could do with some installation help.

do i just take the old head unit out and plug the new unit in and connect it up?

where will the cable from the changer go back to the head unit? or can i just install the multi changer to the existing head unit i have? the factory fitted radio/cd?

cheers

I don't think the 6 CD changers will work with any of the original Stilo radios. You need the dedicated Fiat version of the IDC-A09 5 CD changer that has inbuilt software to work with Fiat radios. If you have one of those, it's just plug and play.

Cheers for the help Davren,

does the cd changer jst slot into the glove box with the liner?, im just thinking on where the cable go out the glove box or liner back up to the back of the head unit?

im getting the head unit and changer together.

take it being factory fit the steering wheel controls will still work?, i want a connect nav system but not that well off yet!

cheers

Paul

Yes.. the IDC-A09 fits in the dedicated glove box liner. I think the IDC-A09 only has a short lead so you will probably need the correct extension lead. The blue plug on the extension lead fits in the back of the radio.

Yes... the steering wheel buttons will work, but if you get a Connect Nav+ unit and want to be able to fully control it from the buttons, you will need to upgrade to the 11 button pack.

I think there's a metal frame fixed to the liner. The CD changer slides into the frame and locks into it. You would need the normal 2 prong tools to remove it from the frame.

Picture below of the Fiat IDC-A09 extension lead too.

All installed just need to put the cd changer code in and where away!!

note to anyone trying to get the factory fit units out, dont buy the removal tool from stealfords, i thought to save messing round ill just get the tools to big to push right in!

id normally get some thin metal rods etc or make my own tool, you try and do it the right way and look what happens!!

as for where the changer goes, il admit lookikng in the main glove box wasnt the right place! and didnt know where the changer goes was even there!! ahaha:bang::bang:

Connect nav or a double din in the next few months or so!

cheers

Re: Fitting CD multi for the 1st time PROBLEM!!

The IDC-A09 CD changers are not very reliable. There's been several threads about them. I posted some repair information in posts 2 and 6 of this thread: https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/28853...nger-help.html

If you're having to put the code in every time you use the CDC, it would suggest that the permanent power supply is missing.
