So i changed clutch on a 2004 1.2 Panda now it won't reverse, its going forward in reverse gear. All other gears are working fine. So im just wondering what i did wrong  and if its an easy fix or i need to drop the gearbox again and start afresh. Thanks.

Did you remove the gear shifter top cover? It's possible to set it so you can't reach 1st-2nd or 5th-reverse. Pop the cover, set the gears to neutral and replace. It should now be fine.

I took the selector plate off for one and popped the ball joint off for the other

Dam it's added an unknown

Did you undo the blue bolts

Or

The red nut

Ahhh

That probably where the problem is

It controls the gear selection from the left to right from the gearstick

It's also a nut your never suppose to undo

It can cause all sorts of problems especially if the shaft drops down

Someone else did this quite a few years ago

Let me.find the old thread if I can

At least two people have done this and managed to fix it

Both had to take the gear selector off the top.of.the gearbox

Unfortunately they haven't posted pictures of the fix

I suspect this lever is now no longer in its correct slot and if you put it back everything will be okay, fingers crossed

Il give it a go bud thank you

Strange one, there 4 levers
Two are back and forwards
Two are one way

1: 1st and 2nd
2; 3rd and 4th
3: 5th
4: Reverse

1, 2, 4 are working

I can't see how it passes 3 unless everything is lined up correctly

They have to all line up before putting.the.top on

How's it feel when you try and select 5th

Does it not go in

Or

Does the gear leaver move but the gears is not selected

Is the bracket on top of the gearbox the cable slot in tight

They was all lined up but may have moved when I put it back on il have a look tomorrow. It feels like it just wont go in like its not notching if that makes sense at all

Get someone to select 5th, well try to

This lever will be cocked over slightly

See if you manually push it, whether it then goes into gear
