MY STILO 1.2 HAS A ENGINE FAULT. THIS IS FLASHING NON-STOP ON THE INSTURMENT PANEL. THE ENGINE NOW HAS A RUMBLING NOISE EVERY TIME I START IT.

IS THIS THE ENGINE COILS. OR SOMETING MORE SERIOUS?

CAN I CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT?

does it make the rumbling noise after its started ? a coil will cause a missfire all the time especially with the engine under load ,how many miles has it done? does it rev properly ? is there oil in it ? the more info you can give the better chance of a diagnosis :)

Hi. The engine rumbles as soon as i start it. It has done 50000 miles.

I only had the MOT in november costing me £500.00 for various things. i presume the oil would hae been checked?

When i am sitting in the driving seat the rumbing is right under me.

Yes it is revving okay. I have just driven it ths morning for 5 minutes but non stop flashing on engine fault.

I had a new exhasut put on october as well. Just feels like something happenin every month.

I would be checking all the belts and especially the pulleys on the engine as a bearing may have gone on one of them and is being picked up by one of the sensors and check the oil level some stilo's drink the stuff my 1.8 02 3dr does a litre a month (1200 miles)

 :shakehead: Thats your job and you should do it every week! Maintenance of any car will reduce the instances of failure, if you neglect the car dont expect it to be reliable. Sounds to me like the new exhaust isnt fitted properly... Kwikfit by any chance?
