Get an original fiat (denso) part ONLY.

Corsas have Valeo alternators on them which I think are of superior quality.
My alternator casing cracked about 3 years ago, went to the breakers, got one from a Corsa, was surprised to find that the OEM part is Valeo, installed it, works just fine.
I would suggest doing that, superior quality at a fraction of the cost.

Cheers for the tips on alternators but already have one on order.

Is there a guide or how to on removal of alternator or removing tension off the belt as i had a real job with pry bar to ease belt off just want make it more easy when refitting.

thanks julian

You'll need a spanner to move the tensioner. Place it on the bolt head of the tensioner pulley, and rotate it clockwise. This should free up tension on the belt and allow removal and refitting.
